About the
assessor….
..
Samuel B. Shaw Dip DEA
.
Having lived in the Aire Valley all his
life, Sam started his early career working
for 'Ford & Warren Solicitors' in Leeds City
Centre.
In the early part of 2000, having always had
an interest in the property market, Sam made
an intelligent and timely move into the
property sector; specialising in residential
lettings. |
Having now worked in the industry for over a
decade, during a time of intense activity in
the property market, Sam has gained a range
of specialist skills and knowledge. This
includes; rental valuation, market
appraisals, tenant assessment, pre-tenancy
issues, lease construction / termination,
rent collection, possession proceedings and
tenancy deposit legislation. He also has
rental properties of his own and therefore
finds it easy to view the market from a
Landlord's perspective.
Sam is proud to have enjoyed a period of
employment with 'Belvoir Property
Management' (Skipton). Belvoir are
considered to be the area's leading Letting
Agent, renowned for their highly efficient
and professional approach. This was a very
exciting period in Sam's career; working for
a highly successful, award winning franchise
during a period of rapid growth within the
local lettings market.
Following his time with Belvoir, Sam joined
the team at 'Harrison Boothman - Estate
Agents & Surveyors' (Skipton). This was a
superb opportunity to develop his skills and
experience within a residential sales
environment. 'Harrison Boothman' have been
market leaders in the town for many years
and continue to enjoy unrivalled success on
behalf of their clients, regardless of the
UK's economic challenges. This success is
due to their intimate knowledge of the local
market, built up during many years of hard
work and dedication to their profession.
Sam qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor
(DEA) following training with Elmhurst
Energy Systems Ltd in 2009.
Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd has provided
innovative solutions for the energy
calculations of buildings since 1993 - they
are at the forefront of this rapidly
evolving energy assessment profession.
Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd has always been
a leading energy rating organisation. In the
early stages they developed some of the
first energy performance measurement
software using the Governments Standard
Assessment Procedure (SAP) methodology. The
Elmhurst Streamline SAP software was
launched and widely used amongst: mortgage
banks, building societies, social landlords
and other forward-looking environmentally
conscious organisations.
Elmhurst Energy Systems later developed
Design SAP for Building Regulations and
evolved Streamline SAP into RDSAP (Reduced
Data Standard Assessment Procedure). Both
Design SAP and RDSAP are now the recognised
calculations to determine the energy
efficiency of a domestic building and
produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). |
